Sales Engineer

Metal Networks is seeking a Sales Engineer to help build our customer base and deliver our industry leading SaaS products to the industrial metals market. This position will work closely with the development, professional services, and sales teams throughout the pre-sales process, assisting with requirements analysis, and providing detailed product demonstrations to prospects.

Location: Austin, TX

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work directly with sales as part of the sales team, participating in on-site and in-office meetings and seminars
  • Applicable business experience with exceptional strengths in project management and customer-facing communication.
  • Answer all pre-sales inquiries for both sales colleagues and prospect representatives
  • Effectively resolve issues with prospects during software installation and deployment
  • Lead pre-sales cycles from requirements analysis
  • Interface with potential clients and deliver what it takes to build trust and ensure technology approach is workable
  • Responsible for development and delivery of product demonstrations including demo configuration, scenario development, and presentations
  • Respond accurately to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
  • Translate customer requirements to internal technology teams
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education, and after-sales support services
  • Providing training and produce support material for other members of the sales team.
  • Develop product training material.
  • Maintain an in-depth level of technical and industry knowledge through ongoing training, seminars and certifications through ongoing training, seminars and certifications.
  • Responsibility for the build, delivery and management of proof of concept product evaluations and pilot projects


  • Bacholor’s degree
  • The ideal candidate will possess 3 years of Pre-Sales Engineering experience for SaaS solutions
  • SaaS or Cloud implementation experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel on short notice
  • Ability to interact and work directly with customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including technical presentations
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communications skills; professional presentation skills; self-starter, cooperative attitude; team player.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented, multi-tasker who is able to deal with tight deadlines
  • Must be able to learn new technologies quickly.
